Transformational Change

See how we have been able to support our community

The Creative Learning Partnership Trust is based within Staffordshire and is serving the needs of nine schools and their communities. The Trust has over 2400 children, 450 staff and covers a number of different schools from Primary, First, Special and Middle Schools.

In a Trust staff survey during October 2022, the staff stated that they saw workload and wellbeing as a key area to improve. The Trust created a wellbeing and workload strategy that was developed by the Director of Operations with support from the Senior Mental Health Leads, the headteachers and Trustees. This led to a desire to offer a consistent wellbeing offer to all of the staff across the Trust. This focussed on items as small as unlimited supply of tea and coffee in the staffrooms through to a wellbeing day. As part of this the Trust worked closely with SAS upon its wellbeing offer. SAS has offered a multitude of offers to support wellbeing through a simple and easy to use app. This app provides instant support when needed from a 24-hour doctor through to counselling and even gym sessions. This app was launched and promoted through the schools by the headteachers who are all equally committed to support the wellbeing of the workforce.

Since the introduction of the App and support from SAS, the staff have positively commented upon the impact it has made upon themselves and their families. This has been seen within staff responses during recent Ofsted visit at two of the Trust schools.

James Bateman Middle School Ofsted: Teachers feel supported by leaders in managing their workload and well-being. They feel valued, and appreciate the continuing professional development they receive from leaders to help them be the best they can be.

Manor Hill First School Ofsted: Staff work closely together and support each other well. They are reflective and thoughtful about their work. They also work collaboratively with colleagues across the trust in a variety of ways. Staff appreciate having this time to collaborate and share expertise. They say that leaders consider their well-being and work–life balance.
