The Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools exists to strengthen the mental health of the next generation by supporting schools to make a positive change at all levels of the UK’s education system, thereby improving outcomes and life chances. This initiative is focused on evidence-based solutions which address schools’, pupils and parents/carers needs; and brings together a professional community of school mental health experts; and leading innovation within the area.
The Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools is based within the Carnegie School of Education at Leeds Beckett University and is in partnership with Minds Ahead, a CIC.
All of our provision supports educational settings in developing a whole school approach to mental health in schools which includes both Staff, Pupils and the Wider community.

Our Provision comprises of:
School Mental Health Award – an evidence based framework to support schools in developing a whole school approach with the following focus: Leadership and Strategy, Organisational Structure and Culture – Staff and Pupils, Support for Staff and Pupils, Staff Professional Development, Working with Parents and Carers and Working with External Services.
We also have a range of professional learning programmes to support staff at all levels.

All of our provision is both national and international through face to face, online and blended learning.
