Schools Advisory Service at Inspiring Leadership 2014

Schools Advisory Service were proud to be exhibitors at the ‘Inspiring Leadership’ conference in Birmingham this week.

The conference attracted over 1,500 school leaders from across England and beyond, and we were delighted to meet so many colleagues and speak with them about our services and provision.

National and international speakers at the event included Steve Munby, Chief Executive of CfBT; Sir Clive Woodward; and Benjamin Zander, Conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. Steve Munby, who provided an excellent keynote speech at a Schools Advisory Service event in Newcastle late last year, spoke about the importance of learning-centred leadership and the need for leaders to focus on ‘always better learning’.

It was clear from our conversations with leaders at the event that staff performance remains one of their highest priorities. Ensuring staff wellbeing, as well as professional development and, of course, attendance, is critical to all pupils’ success.

On Wednesday evening, Schools Advisory Service Director, Les Marshall, hosted a networking event for school leaders from across different regions of the country. Les said: “It is very rare that colleagues get the opportunity to meet with leaders from other regions and authority areas. The Schools Advisory Service’s networking event is an excellent opportunity for colleagues to meet in a very relaxed and informal environment, and hopefully to develop continuing links for sharing ideas and practice. We’re very keen to do more to signpost colleagues to interesting practice in other schools, as well as to other key developments, through our regular communications and events – watch this space!”

Schools Advisory Service is the largest provider of staff absence and maternity insurance in the UK. We also provide computer and tablet insurance and buildings and content insurance.
