SAS Menopause Support Month

Each month, we celebrate the wellbeing services that we provide and the impact it has on school staff and pupils across the country. We are also working to raise awareness and start conversations to help encourage people to seek support and to raise awareness about statistics relating to that wellbeing service.

The focus this month is on Menopause Support

In the UK, the average age for a woman to reach the menopause is 51.

Many women don’t tell their work about the menopause. Many feel it is a personal issue and take time off from work, giving other reasons for their absence. SAS are here to support staff covered by SAS policies, who can contact our nursing team on 01773 814 403 or use our app for advice and support.

Earlier in the year our in-house head of nursing, Mandy Dowsing attended the book launch for “How to Survive Menopause Without Losing Your Mind” by Kathryn Colas of Simply Hormones in London. SAS have since worked with Kathryn at Simply Hormones who has been supporting menopause in the workplace for 9 years. We are proud to offer menopause related support to school staff insured under SAS policies as part of our comprehensive Whole School Wellbeing services.
