New Leadwell service launched
SAS has launched the new LeadWell service for school leaders with its first live event. Over 50 school leaders from the Yorkshire area came together at the launch to hear Paul Crittenden, Director of LeadWell, talk about better ways to deal with the inevitable pressure of modern school leadership, whilst maintaining performance. The morning workshop session focused what can be done to avoid becoming unduly stressed in the face of workday challenges, and introduced some innovative and proactive ways to build resilience and performance.
The day, the first of a planned sequence of events launching the new service around the UK during 2013, was a great success. During the afternoon, there were spa sessions, golf, health treatments and massages on offer, and even windsurfing!
The LeadWell service has been introduced to help school leaders perform consistently well under pressure, and to support them in avoiding the job adversely affecting their health.
Business Manager Rachel Maquire from Badsworth CE (VC) J&I School, who participated in the event said:
“I’ve learnt not to automatically panic when put into a stressful situation, but to take a step back and evaluate the situation before acting. Something else I took away was the idea of journaling – a way of reflecting on experiences to learn how to take a more considered approach to future stressful situations. Leaving the event, I felt relaxed within myself, but also encouraged to be a more proactive and better leader. Overall I came away with a more positive frame of mind’
